About US

The Winnisquam Office of Student Wellness is funded by the federally awarded System of Care/Fast Forward 2020 grant by the NH Department of Education through the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).

This grant supports several important initiatives within the Winnisquam School District and within our regional system of care partner communities, Laconia and Franklin.  This work includes building the Multi-Tiered System of Support for Behavior (MTSS-B) in all five schools and developing early childhood opportunities in the community. We hold Community Management Team Meetings monthly where community partners come together to discuss the work related to the Office of Student Wellness. The purpose of the CMT is to form community partnerships to meet the mental and behavioral wellness of children and families in our area.  In addition to building a regional system of Care, the grant has also allowed for the expansion of wraparound services.  Wraparound services are an effective support option for families with youth who have complex needs such as substance misuse and/or significant mental health challenges.
